Most lighting shops sell what is already made. A custom lampshade order starts the other way around — with your dimensions, your fabric choice and, if you need it, your logo or Pantone colour. KAHA has built to custom drawings since 2018, for single statement pieces and for full-property fit-outs alike.

How a Custom Order Is Built
A custom lampshade is not a modification of a stock item — it is built from your specification from the very first cut of steel. Four stages take a file from your inbox to a signed-off piece.
Off-the-Shelf vs Custom
Custom is worth the extra step when a project has a fixed opening size, a brand colour to match, or a fitting that has to sit exactly right.
Choose Your Combination
Every custom order picks a cloth from KAHA’s nine fabrics and hand techniques — from brushed linen and hand-woven raw tussah silk to hand-folded pleats — sourced from Vietnamese craft villages including Nam Định, Hội An and Vạn Phúc.
Frames come in 28 powder-coat colours, and any fabric can be dyed to a custom Pantone reference on request, so a shade matches a room scheme or a brand guideline exactly rather than approximately.

Custom Also Means Restoration
A custom lampshade order does not have to start from bare metal. If a frame is sound but the fabric has faded, torn or simply no longer matches the room, we measure it by hand, re-coat it, and re-skin it in a new cloth of your choice.
A re-shade typically runs roughly 30–40% less than a new build from scratch, and it carries the same 12-month warranty as a new order — useful for hotel refurbishments where dozens of existing shades need refreshing rather than replacing.
What Counts as Custom
“Custom” covers more ground than most buyers expect. It is a lampshade sized to fit a fitting you already have rather than the nearest standard diameter. It is a cluster of shades built to hang at specific drops around a dining table, rather than three identical pendants at one height. It is a dó-paper lantern carrying a logo or a kanji character for a branded sushi bar or izakaya, or a frame dyed to a Pantone reference so it matches a brand guideline rather than the closest stock colour.
In every case the process is the same: a drawing or a size from you, a redrawn specification for your approval, a sample before the production run, and a piece built to one of KAHA’s 18 shapes in whichever of the nine fabrics suits the room.
Looking for Custom Lampshades Near You
Photos rarely show how a fabric drapes or catches light. If you are based in or visiting Ho Chi Minh City, KAHA’s office and sample library is open by appointment so you can handle the nine fabrics, see the 28 colour references and look at finished shades before you decide.
Outside Vietnam, the process runs the same way remotely — swatches and a sample shade are shipped to you first, and nothing goes into production until you approve what arrives.
Custom Order Questions
Yes. Send whatever you have — a measured AutoCAD drawing, a hand sketch, or a photo of a fitting you already own. We redraw it, confirm every dimension with you, and only start production once you approve the final drawing and a sample.
Samples carry no minimum — we send fabric swatches and a sample shade first. For a production run, the minimum is ten pieces for projects inside Vietnam and fifty pieces for international orders.
Yes. Frames come in 28 powder-coat colours as standard, and any of the nine fabrics can be dyed to a custom Pantone reference on request for a brand-exact finish.
Often, yes. If the frame is structurally sound we measure it, re-coat it and re-skin it in new fabric, typically for roughly 30–40% less than a new build, under the same 12-month warranty.
It depends on the fabric, the shape and the quantity. We confirm a realistic timeline together with your quote, which we aim to send within 30 minutes of receiving your drawing.
If you are in or visiting Ho Chi Minh City, yes — our office and sample library at 262/1/93 Phan Anh is open Monday to Saturday by appointment. If you are elsewhere, we ship swatches and a sample shade to you first.
